$23.00/hour JOB OVERVIEW The Instrument Test Technician I performs production assembly operations along with complete system analysis, testing, and performance optimization of medical instruments. This role includes basic electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting to identify issues in non-functioning test equipment and determine solutions based on established pass/fail criteria. The technician serves as a subject matter expert in instrument functional performance and escalates issues as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Build, integrate, and understand the full assembly process and requirements for production instruments Perform functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument Analyze test data and results to determine pass/fail outcomes and provide solutions for failures Optimize system performance, including precision of movement and light systems, using test data Identify defects and recommend design or process improvements Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards Provide training and support to associates on mechanical and testing activities Process and disposition Quality Notifications (QNs) Perform production activities in compliance with regulatory requirements and BD safety and quality standards Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing as needed Perform standard material handling for instrument raw materials and sub-assemblies Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with housekeeping standards Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all BD safety and housekeeping policies Work overtime as required to meet business needs Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma or GED with 6 years of manufacturing experience, or Associate degree in a technical field with 2 years of manufacturing experience Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required Basic Skills Ability to support testing of moderately complex instruments Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop associates Strong accountability for results and continuous improvement Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives Knowledge of mechanical tools such as torque drivers, gauges, and measurement devices Ability to read drawings and interpret dimensions and specifications Strong time management skills across multiple production orders Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to work within defined quality procedures Ability to manage frequent changes in assignments Proficient / Working Skills Proficiency in English (reading, writing, chart analysis, and basic math) Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows-based systems Strong math and analytical skills Ability to use independent judgment for planning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving Strong communication and leadership skills If you are interested, please reach out to Chin Yang at A-Line Staffing . 586-323-4194
