Part-Time Controller The Mom Project Hours: 10 hours per week | Compensation: $70-100 per hour | Remote – Candidates must be based in Chicagoland. The Part-Time Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations, maintain clean and compliant books, and provide leadership with clear financial insights. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes, thrives in lean environments, and can operate independently. Responsibilities Manage month-end and quarter-end close, including reconciliations and financial reporting Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense management, and cash flow Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and GAAP requirements Partner with leadership to support strategic financial decisions Coordinate with external accountants and vendors as needed Qualifications 5+ years of accounting/finance experience; prior Controller experience preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience in small business, startup, or consulting environments a plus Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable owning end-to-end finance processes Ability to work independently in a part-time (10 hrs/week) capacity to start Benefits Flexible schedule Remote-friendly role, must be based in Chicago Opportunity to influence financial operations at an early stage #J-18808-Ljbffr
