Position Optometrist (Part‑Time, Independent Contractor) Location New Bern, NC Start Date Flexible Compensation $800–$900 per day Position Summary We’re seeking a Part‑Time Optometrist to join our mobile care team in New Bern, NC. This flexible role is perfect for someone looking to supplement their current schedule while making a lasting difference in local senior communities. All equipment, supplies, scheduling, and billing are fully managed by CMC. As an independent contractor, you’ll have the freedom to focus entirely on providing excellent care without the administrative burdens of private practice. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye exams, refractions, and vision screenings Diagnose and manage ocular diseases common among geriatric patients Prescribe corrective lenses and coordinate with optical labs as needed Educate patients and facility staff on eye health and preventive care Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree Active North Carolina optometry license Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (geriatric or mobile care preferred) Strong diagnostic and communication skills Schedule 1–2 visits per month Flexible scheduling – typical hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Ready to make an impact while keeping your flexibility?
