Position Overview

One of our Partners, in Philadelphia, is seeking experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage within a medically directed anesthesia care team model . Providers must be able to commit to at least two shifts per week and hold an active Pennsylvania CRNA license .

Pay ranking: This assignment offers Top 15% pay ranking compared to the 2025 Pennsylvania locum CRNA market , based on provider pay.

Emergency/temporary privileges are available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 30-60 days .

Assignment Highlights
  • Ongoing locum CRNA coverage need

  • Minimum commitment of 2 shifts per week required

  • Preferred 12-hour shifts ; open to 16- or 24-hour shifts as needed

  • Medically directed anesthesia model (no AAs)

  • Care Team Model with anesthesiologists onsite

  • Adult-only patient population

  • Average 4-6 cases per day

  • Level I-style acuity at a 600+ bed academic medical center

  • Mileage reimbursement only (no lodging, airfare, or meals)

  • Malpractice insurance provided

  • HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia services in a medically directed care team model

  • Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and participate in postoperative care

  • Deliver anesthesia across multiple service lines including:

  • Thoracic surgery

  • Major vascular surgery

  • Trauma cases

  • Orthopedics

  • Neuro cases (occasionally)

  • Outpatient surgery (occasionally)

  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists and perioperative staff

  • Document care accurately in Cerner EMR

  • Participate in OR efficiency and patient safety initiatives

    Skills & Experience
    • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

    • Active Pennsylvania CRNA license (required)

    • Board certification required

    • Comfortable with high-acuity adult anesthesia cases

    • Experience with thoracic, vascular, trauma, and orthopedic anesthesia

    • Spinal anesthesia and regional blocks preferred but not required

    • OB experience not required (skills may be utilized if present)

    • Ability to function effectively in a care team model
