We are conducting an executive search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a privately held infrastructure innovation platform focused on building integrated, sustainable systems across energy, data, water, and transportation.

This is a pivotal leadership role as the organization continues to scale a differentiated, asset-intensive business model operating across complex, long-horizon environments. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for enterprise-wide financial strategy, capital allocation, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and risk management.

The successful candidate will bring both strategic perspective and hands‑on leadership, strengthening financial discipline, forecasting rigor, and governance while supporting investment decisions, partnerships, and long-term value creation. As a high-growth, founder-led platform, the role includes meaningful long‑term equity participation aligned with the organization’s growth and value creation objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Financial Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on financial strategy, planning, and enterprise decision‑making.
  • Translate long‑term business objectives into a clear, executable financial roadmap.
  • Provide disciplined financial insight, scenario analysis, and capital prioritization to support leadership decisions.
  • Partner closely with the Board of Directors, investors, and lenders, delivering transparent and timely financial reporting.
Capital Allocation, Investment & Asset Economics
  • Establish and oversee capital allocation frameworks appropriate for a long‑lived, asset-intensive infrastructure platform.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities across energy, data, water, and transportation assets.
  • Lead financial modeling, lifecycle economics, and investment cases for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Support disciplined investment gating and risk‑adjusted decision‑making.
Partnerships, Commercial Structuring & Project Finance
  • Support the structuring and evaluation of joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and public‑private collaborations.
  • Lead financial diligence, valuation, and governance for partnership‑based initiatives.
  • Support project‑level financing strategies, including lender engagement and debt structuring aligned with asset timelines.
  • Strengthen enterprise‑wide budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes.
  • Build forecasting discipline across long timelines and interdependent workstreams.
  • Enhance analytics and reporting to support data‑driven decision‑making.
Treasury, Liquidity & Risk Management
  • Oversee treasury operations, liquidity planning, and cash management.
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and financial partners.
  • Identify and mitigate enterprise‑level financial, contractual, regulatory, and counterparty risks.
  • Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, audit processes, and internal controls.
  • Ensure financial integrity, transparency, and appropriate governance across the enterprise.
  • Guide the evolution of financial systems and tools to support scalability and operational complexity.
  • Improve automation, reporting accuracy, and financial visibility across projects and platforms.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing finance organization, developing talent and succession plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline required; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior executive role such as CFO, divisional CFO, or equivalent within a complex, asset‑intensive organization.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in or alongside infrastructure, energy, data, water, transportation, or other long‑lived asset environments.
  • Deep expertise in capital allocation, investment governance, and lifecycle asset economics, with the ability to evaluate risk‑adjusted returns across complex projects and platforms.
  • Proven sophistication in corporate and project finance, including liquidity planning, debt structuring, and engagement with lenders and capital partners.
  • Experience structuring and evaluating joint ventures, strategic partnerships, service or offtake agreements, and public‑private collaborations, with strong financial governance.
  • Strong leadership in enterprise financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis, particularly in environments with long timelines and interdependent workstreams.
  • Enterprise‑level risk leadership mindset, spanning financial, contractual, regulatory, and counterparty risk.
  • Track record of building and scaling high‑performing finance organizations, including systems, processes, controls, and talent development.
  • Credible, trusted executive presence with boards, investors, lenders, and senior leadership teams.
  • Collaborative, servant‑oriented leader with strong judgment, integrity, and the ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution.
