Your New Role

CNN is looking for a strategic, audiencecentric Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our newsletter portfolioa key channel for engaging readers. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping how CNN builds meaningful relationships through the inbox, expanding reach, deepening relevance, and driving retention as part of CNNs broader user funnel and subscription ecosystem.

Youll collaborate closely with Audience, Editorial, Product, Design, Growth, and Analytics teams to ensure every newsletter has a clear purpose, defined objectives, and measurable impact. Youll be instrumental in optimizing our current portfolio, launching new offerings, and driving innovation across format, personalization, and storytelling. This includes setting engagement benchmarks, promoting best practices, advocating for exceptional user experiences, and staying ahead of emerging industry trends.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Create and evolve the product vision and roadmap for CNNs newsletter ecosystem, aligning with editorial, audience, and business objectives.
  • Partner with editorial, audience, engineering, and design to deliver scalable, highquality solutions across platforms and devices.
  • Set and track growth and engagement goals for each newsletter and support teams in achieving them.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Newsletters (Audience) to refine email strategy and guide desks and newsletter editors on best practices for execution.
  • Ensure newsletters reflect CNNs journalistic standards and resonate with readers.
  • Oversee newsletter performance reporting and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Champion user experience and innovation, leveraging data, industry trends, and reader feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and present new opportunities to newsroom and company leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in media, publishing, or audience engagement.
  • Proven success managing email or newsletter products at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in A/B testing, segmentation, and personalization strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading crossfunctional initiatives and collaborating with editorial, growth, and analytics partners.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for journalism and audiencefirst thinking.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced, evolving media environment with shifting priorities and high editorial standards.
  • Passion for creating compelling, useful, and habitforming products that meet real audience needs.
  • Experience with subscription or membership products preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role: Base pay $117,600$218,400 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short and longterm incentives, and programspecific awards. A comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
