Role Summary: Flowserve Cookeville seeks a Material Handler who will be responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks, packaging and unpackaging of materials, stocking and pulling parts from storage, and all other functions associated with receiving, pulling, and shipping of product all while providing exemplary service to internal and external customers. Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks and handle packaging and unpackaging of materials to support daily receiving and shipping activities.
  • Pull parts and materials for valve assembly and ensure they are delivered accurately and on time to support production needs.
  • Stock materials in designated storage locations and pull additional parts as needed for work orders, shipments, and other operational requirements.
Process all receiving functions, including verifying bills of lading and packing lists, inspecting incoming materials, identifying damaged goods, and resolving discrepancies with purchasing or other departments.
  • Record materials received on purchase orders, complete ERP system receipts, and distribute required documentation.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by verifying accuracy, properly packaging materials, and completing all required documentation.
  • Transfer completed work orders to shipping and support all operations associated with receiving, pulling, and shipping product.
  • Maintain organized work areas and follow all warehouse procedures, housekeeping standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide exemplary service to internal and external customers through timely, accurate, and proactive support.
  • Take initiative to assist with daily work cell needs, contribute to continuous improvement, and help solve problems as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Attention to detail.

  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and cross-train in different functions.
  • Helper attitude and effective teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including effective navigation of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, kneel, twist, and bend.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally buddy-lift or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a production environment with multiple product changeovers.
  • Ability to understand logistics and material handling terminology.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity / working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Forklift
  • HS Diploma / GED and / or 2 years relevant experience.
