The ideal candidate has a strong computational background, actively seeks solutions to challenges and enjoys working in a small team-environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply existing and novel algorithms to cancer data sets, critically review, analyze and visualize results.

  • Contribute to quantitative molecular analysis pipelines under the supervision of staff or faculty, including:
    • Assisting with hypothesis generation and experimental design
    • Performing downstream data processing, quality control, and statistical analysis
    • Interpreting and visualizing results for internal and external presentations
  • Assist senior team members with curation, organization, and maintenance of large datasets and related metadata.
  • Support and train new users on analysis workflows and tools; help standardize best practices for multi-omic and proteomic data analysis.
  • Present results effectively to clinicians, experimental biologists, and computational scientists in lab meetings and collaborative discussions.

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S/M.S. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

  • Excellent programming skills in Python or R (both preferred).
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices and algorithms, including version control (e.g., Git) and reproducible workflows.
  • Comfort using Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Google Docs to summarize and communicate results between team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of physicians, experimental scientists, statisticians and software engineers.
