Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Sacramento, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will oversee critical financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. This role requires a results-driven, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership abilities to guide a team and support month-end and year-end financial processes. Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise team members handling payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue accounting functions.
- Review and approve timecards, vacation requests, and schedules for team members, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Conduct performance evaluations, mentoring, and disciplinary actions for supervised staff.
- Manage payroll operations, including system troubleshooting, funding, and reviewing payroll data.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including data entry, collections, and reconciliation.
- Monitor accounts payable systems, approving payments, analyzing aging reports, and validating credit card transactions.
- Approve contract billing invoices and collaborate with program directors to manage budget allocations.
- Analyze and resolve general ledger discrepancies, errors, and reclassification needs.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Assist in training contract staff, maintaining accounting systems, and enhancing team performance through ongoing development. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting management or supervision.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Expertise in accounts receivable and accounts payable operations.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, including ADP, and payroll processing.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement audits.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and mentor a team.
