Department/Unit Summary The Women's Services Unit at Castleview embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care patients. The Center for Women & Babies offers a comprehensive program of medical and surgical services tailored to the unique needs of female patients. How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Prioritizes and organizes delivery of nursing care; accepting a variety of assignments and consulting with other disciplines as appropriate.
- Assists in staff development activities, including orienting, instructing and training others, emphasizing departmental, as well as interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must have a current, valid Utah nursing license, compact state license or Utah apprentice RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
- Stable within 1year of hire.
- NRP within 1 year of hire.
