Position Overview:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facility. This role ensures that work areas, restrooms, and common spaces are cleaned and maintained to company and safety standards.
Job Description:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors, carpets, and mats.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Wash windows, glass doors, and other surfaces as needed.
- Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet tissue dispensers.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and report low inventory to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Lock and unlock doors according to building security procedures.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or reporting repairs.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of meeting rooms or events as needed.
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) in written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills is preferred.
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience a plus.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with good time-management skills.
