Program Overview Engineering, integration, and cybersecurity support to design, build, and test enhanced services for the Department of Navy's IT architecture. Offers a wide range of roles, from cybersecurity experts to engineers specializing in systems, networks, software, and data center services.
About The Role The SharePoint Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Technical Lead to design, customize, and debug workflows (automate business processes), web sites, web parts, form and list/library, and other custom applications and/or tools using PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, .NET, HTML within the MS SharePoint environment.
Working with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Design a SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint SE migration and implementation plan.
Plan activities, schedules, risks, and resources needed for deployments or upgrades.
Provide technical execution and expertise in migrating current and future content from external systems into SharePoint.
Plan SharePoint search topology, strategy, and configure federated search.
Provide SharePoint site structure/navigational architecture guidance and execution, including Communities of Practice, working areas, and websites.
Perform SharePoint customization, integration, and upgrades into engineering, test, and production environments in accordance with Configuration Management, Change Management, and Security policies and processes.
Integrate SharePoint with other business applications (CRM, ERP) and Microsoft products (Office 365, Teams, OneDrive).
Make recommendations and install new major releases, product updates, hot fixes, and service packs.
Customize and implement tools and capabilities to include dashboards, websites, employee library, and reports for SharePoint.
Create custom forms, templates, and web parts using InfoPath and SharePoint Designer.
Create and maintain documentation for SharePoint solutions, including architecture, configurations, and procedures.
Implement and manage security policies, permissions, and governance for the SharePoint environment.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues.
Qualifications
Minimum 12 years experience with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; 7 years with Ph.D.; 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Top Secret with SCI eligibility required.
Technical Skills
SharePoint expertise: SharePoint 2016/2019 and SharePoint SE.
Development skills: .NET, PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs.
Power Platform: PowerApps and Power Automate.
Microsoft Graph API: familiarity for automation and data integration.
SQL Server: knowledge for database management, including Always-On High Availability.
Soft Skills
Communication: excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem‑solving: strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Collaboration: proven ability to work effectively within a team.
Time Management: strong organizational and time management skills.
Adaptability: willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements.
Certifications
Current DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level III certification.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals desired.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert desired.
Desired Qualifications
Cloud technologies: experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
Compensation & Benefits Target salary range: $135,000 – $216,000. Salary is determined by various factors, including scope and responsibilities, individual experience, education, skills, and location.
