We are seeking someone to work on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, some Sundays with a flexible schedule of 2-4 days per week. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services in a patient-focused environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of optometry, and the ability to deliver exceptional patient care. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with a supportive team, utilizing advanced EMR/EHR systems, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. The position is fully paid and suitable for licensed professionals committed to improving vision health and enhancing patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough eye examinations, including assessment of visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health evaluations.

Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, providing appropriate treatment plans or referrals as necessary.

Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient records and communicating findings.

Maintain detailed and compliant medical records using EMR/EHR systems, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Perform vital signs assessments and utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.

Apply physiology and anatomy knowledge to interpret diagnostic tests and identify abnormalities.

Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.

Manage patient interactions with excellent customer service skills, fostering trust and satisfaction.

Assist in sales efforts by recommending appropriate optical products when applicable, while adhering to ethical standards.

Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, medical coding practices, and industry regulations through ongoing professional development.

Experience

Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice, with strong background in patient care and clinical procedures.

Familiarity with optical experience, pediatrics, and managing diverse patient populations preferred.

Knowledge of medical records management, medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and aseptic techniques essential.

Location and hours flexibility /weekend availability highly desirable.

Excellent customer service skills combined with sales acumen to enhance patient satisfaction while promoting optical products when appropriate.

Prior exposure to HIPAA compliance standards and maintaining confidentiality is required. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for licensed Independent Optometrists committed to delivering high-quality eye care in a professional setting.
