Your Opportunity We are seeking a Senior-Level Air Quality Environmental Project Manager to lead projects that support our Fortune 500 manufacturing client accounts with air quality permitting, compliance, and reporting. The position will manage client relationships, identify and respond to project opportunities, and lead execution of air quality permitting and compliance projects in accordance with the Clean Air Act and other regulations. Opportunities will also include program assistance for environmental laws and permitting associated with Clean Water Act, EPCRA, RCRA, Oil Pollution Act, and other regulations. Projects span manufacturing, distribution centers, mining, and chemicals. The role may be filled from Stantec’s Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area office.
Your Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain existing client relationships.
Manage projects and project teams to meet client scope, schedule, budget, and profit expectations.
Assist with the preparation of project deliverables.
Use engineering principles to provide air quality permitting solutions for industrial and commercial equipment at facilities.
Prepare proposals describing scope, schedule, and estimated budget for project execution.
Organize and direct project teams for air permitting and environmental compliance tasks.
Provide quality assurance/quality control of project deliverables.
Lead development of permitting and compliance strategies on projects.
Assist clients in identifying appropriate monitoring, training, testing, record‑keeping, and reporting protocols.
Mentor and assist with training team members.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proven application of engineering principles to evaluate industrial and commercial equipment designs for air permitting and compliance.
Able to develop proposals and manage scope, schedule, and budget changes for projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of air quality environmental regulations, including Title V and PSD permitting under New Source Review.
Independent and team‑oriented work capability.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to recognize discrepancies.
Effective verbal and written communication with clients and project team members.
Proficient Microsoft Excel user.
Meeting deadlines and dedication to job completion.
Regional travel and overnight trips as needed.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
Approximately 20+ years of air quality permitting and compliance experience and 10+ years of project management experience.
Experience with regulatory interpretations of state and federal rules.
Consulting experience completing air permitting and environmental compliance projects (plus).
Professional Engineer, CHMM, CPEA, or other registrations (plus).
Additional experience with program assistance for Clean Water Act, EPCRA, TRI, RCRA, and Oil Pollution Act spill planning (plus).
Position Description The position works primarily in an office setting with occasional field work exposure to inclement weather. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Benefits
Pay Range
– $128,600.00 - $192,900.00 Annually (locations MN, OH, VT, CA, NY).
