SAN Engineer / Storage Network Engineer / Enterprise Storage Engineer || Remote

We are seeking an experienced SAN Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise‑level Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. This role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of storage infrastructure supporting mission‑critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage SAN storage solutions across enterprise environments
Configure and maintain Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NVMe storage networks
Administer storage platforms such as Dell EMC (PowerMax, Unity, Isilon), NetApp, HPE, IBM, or Pure Storage
Perform storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, and capacity planning
Monitor storage performance and troubleshoot latency, connectivity, and failover issues
Manage SAN switches (Brocade, Cisco MDS) including zoning and firmware upgrades
Implement and support replication, snapshots, backups, and disaster recovery solutions
Collaborate with server, virtualization, cloud, and network teams
Support VMware, Hyper‑V, and Linux/Windows environments
Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response
Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Ensure compliance with security, audit, and data protection standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in SAN/storage engineering
Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise SAN storage systems
Proficiency in Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing, and SAN zoning
Experience with SAN switches (Brocade and/or Cisco MDS)
Knowledge of backup and recovery tools (Commvault, NetBackup, Veeam, etc.)
Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMware preferred)
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
