Engineer II, Tank Integrity
with tank integrity program management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!
Role Summary:
The Engineer II, Tank Integrity is an intermediate-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise our clients’ Integrity program.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
Supporting the implementation of Tank Integrity Programs
Evaluating and continuously improving Tank Integrity Programs through the investigation, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies
Reviewing tank inspection results with Tank Project Managers to determine repair options and recommend a repair scope
Researching background of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for program evaluation
Coordinating and reviewing tank failure and metallurgical analyses reports
Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and participation in regulatory audits
Using tank integrity inspection and analysis tools such as API-Risk Based Inspection to determine the extent of required inspections, and overall inspection strategies
Data Integration & Management -
Facilitating Tank Integrity data integration within Buckeye’s GIS database, Corrosion Control database, and/or other applications
Risk Management & Mitigation -
Managing risk analyses and developing risk prevention/ mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement -
Identifying and involving stakeholders (both internal and external to Tank Integrity) for key decisions and preparing Management of Change (MOC) work orders for tank operations-related activities or procedure revisions, as required.
Project/Program Management -
Developing budgets and monitoring maintenance forecasts and expenditures related to the Tank Integrity Programs.
Department Support -
Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or related field is required
Typically, 3-6+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required
A customer focused attitude and demonstrated ability to function as a team player
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to tank integrity management is required.
Day to Day:
Tank Inspection Interval Subject Matter Expert
Risk Based Inspection (RBI), Similar Service, Corrosion Calculations
Manage External Tank Inspection Program
Develop program budgets and Estimates
Budget Roadmap Support (5 year plan, etc)
Tank Database Support
Steel Tank Institute Program
Regulatory Audit Support
Program Initiatives
Certificates & Licenses:
Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer certification is desirable.
API-653 or API-510 certification, or equivalent experience is desirable.
Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.
Essential Functions:
This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
This role continuously operates a computer and other office equipment.
May require climbing tank stairways and entering tanks through manways.
