The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC)
is a patient-centered, team-based multi-specialty practice located in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable, comprehensive outpatient medical and dental services for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves all primary health‑care needs of families in North and Central Brooklyn. Position Overview Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide quality, competent, safe, and compassionate care based on established standards in a patient‑focused preventive, treatment, and counseling setting.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized assessment, treatment planning, and counseling services to patients.
Conduct psychosocial evaluations and facilitate case discussions.
Develop and implement evidence‑based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Behavioral Activation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
Maintain accurate and timely case documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
For LMSWs, a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required.
Knowledge of DSM‑V, psychosis, OCD, and Substance Use Disorder counseling preferred.
Recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed approach.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to work onsite and every other Saturday.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
Additional Skills & Experience
Experience or understanding of eClinical Works.
Demonstrated teamwork and effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer and written/oral communication skills.Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships within a multidisciplinary team and with clients.
