Overview Our Manager‑In‑Training (MIT) program gives you the opportunity to learn and grow at an established company with over 45 years of experience. The program lasts approximately sixteen (16) weeks and includes hands‑on and computer‑based training.

Position Summary The MIT program includes the following areas of training and responsibility:
General training and comprehension – Learn job assignments of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher positions and operate, and teach others how to use industrial kitchen equipment.
Leadership development – Lead line staff in food preparation, serving, and cleanup.
Policies & procedures – Provide leadership, support, and guidance to meet food quality, inventory, safety, and service standards.
Reporting – Maintain records of income, expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
Training – Responsibly manage all training, quality control, and in‑servicing staff; observed with QCIs; perform essential job functions when needed.
Leadership – Manage payroll submission, staffing patterns, coaching and discipline, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
Communication – Effectively convey directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators.
Safety – Use protective gear; ensure safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions; maintain infection control and universal precautions.
Punctuality – Consistent attendance and timely completion of assigned cleaning tasks.
Customer and resident experience – Represent HCSG positively, be courteous, and maintain professional interactions.
Qualifications
Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks.
After training, demonstrate leadership without supervision.
An associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality; or related coursework from an accredited institution.
Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition required. Must complete a CFP Food Protection Manager course within the first 14 days.
Certified Dietary Manager course participation or certification required by state/county law.
Must achieve eLuminate FSM and Long-Term Care FSM certifications within the first 60 days.
Desired: Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision.
Basic computer skills for record keeping and web-based reporting.
May need an approved sanitation and safety course.
Must be able to work the schedule and be punctual.
Compliance with COVID‑19 vaccination policies.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull 50 lbs, stand, sit, bend, walk for extended periods, perform routine repetitive tasks, work around food and cleaning products.
Must live in the service area.
