Cantonese Freelance Interpreter

Cantonese Interpreter As a remote interpreter, you will facilitate communication between Cantonese and English speakers. You must process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner, ensuring a quiet and secure environment.

Candidate Qualifications

Fluency in English and Cantonese

Minimum 2‑year interpretation experience preferred

Excellent listening, retention and note‑taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy

Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions

Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with permission or at the client’s request

Technical & VRI Requirements

Computer or laptop

Windows 10 or higher

USB wired headset

Steady wired internet connection (at least 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload)

Webcam

Solid‑color backdrop (e.g., royal blue, charcoal, bright green)

Additional Information

Proficiency/Bilingual/Native level of English and target language

Remote position – interpreter works from a home office
