This is day 1 onsite in Peoria, IL
Seeking a skilled
Teradata Administrator
with strong expertise in performance optimization, upgrade, support activities, and development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Teradata environments, ensuring high availability, optimizing query performance, and supporting business‑critical applications. This role requires both technical depth and problem‑solving skills to maintain and enhance enterprise data systems.
Database Administration
Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Teradata systems.
Monitor system health, capacity, and performance.
Analyze and tune SQL queries for efficiency.
Optimize database design for scalability and speed.
Conduct performance testing and benchmarking.
Support Activities
Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues.
Ensure system availability, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness.
Collaborate with application teams to resolve data‑related problems.
Support ETL processes and data integration workflows.
Develop scripts and automation for routine tasks.
Participate in data modeling and schema design.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Security & Compliance
Manage user access, roles, and privileges.
Ensure compliance with organizational data governance policies.
Implement backup and recovery strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands‑on experience with Teradata database administration.
Proficiency in SQL query tuning and optimization.
Knowledge of Teradata utilities (FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ, TPT).
Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and workload management.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell, Python, etc.).
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
