Title: Lead Network Automation Engineer / Lead Network Automation Architect / Lead Network Automation Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite Role - 3 days in office

Duration: 12+ Month(s) Contract, possibility to extend is not currently certain

Job Description This position will focus on designing and implementing automation solutions to streamline the management of the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) platform.

Candidate will be responsible for:

Developing robust automation workflows to support platform configuration, policy updates, and operational tasks.

Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing application integrations using RESTful and/or SOAP APIs, including authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT), data transformation, and error handling.

Strong ability to work with API documentation, create secure and scalable endpoints, and integrate third-party services or internal systems.

Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger) and best practices for performance optimization and security compliance.

Building integrations within management Python scripts and Ansible playbooks to interact with external systems (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).

Creating custom tooling to simplify administrative processes and reduce manual effort for day-to-day platform operations.

Collaborating with internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions.

Documenting automation architecture, processes, and usage guidelines to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.

Troubleshooting and optimizing automation scripts for performance and reliability.

This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, adapt to evolving requirements, and navigate complex organizational processes with minimal supervision.

Mandatory Skill Requirements

Managing network infrastructure as code

Building Ansible playbooks based on business requirements

Ability to work independently and navigate complex or unclear processes without constant guidance

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine

Experience with network engineering
