Senior Technical Manager, Civil Engineering
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Civil Highway Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Mid-Atlantic Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Overview We seek a candidate with a Professional Engineer’s License and competence in all conventional aspects of technical civil design to support transportation projects.
Your Impact Candidate will plan and conduct tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects. They will work on small projects or portions of larger projects in a team-oriented environment and serve as task leader for civil engineering aspects including roadway/site layout, geometry, grading, drainage, access, Right‑of‑Way, sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation, and utility relocation schemes.
Requirements for effective oral/written communication skills to assist with client contacts at meetings.
Proficiency and hands‑on experience in Microstation and InRoads, as well as AutoCAD and Civil3D is required. Membership in professional practice organizations and outreach activities is a plus.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
10+ years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and civil design.
NJ Professional Engineering License, a must.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proficient in preparing drawings using Microstation and InRoads.
Knowledgeable in preparing drawings using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Experience using scheduling software.
Proficiency with applying AASHTO and NJDOT design standards and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering.
