About the Role As a CBRE Data Center Technical Manager, you will deliver technical services for global data center clients. You are accountable for pricing, delivery, scope of vendor maintenance contracts, process development, and critical operations documentation. You provide technical service support to maintain 100% uptime, achieve account plan, and ensure all technical services meet client SLAs.
What You’ll Do
Deliver training programs relating to new and existing processes.
Work with Technical Leads to develop, track and maintain procedures and policies.
Manage technical library content and structure globally.
Execute operational and performance risk assessment.
Apply broad knowledge of the business and own discipline integration.
Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
Oversight on SHIELD/CERM Implementation and Reporting
Client Contract Review for Client Requirements
Critical Infrastructure Drawing and Document Management
Site Operational RACI
Staffing Analysis
Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plans
Qualification & Human Error Training
Mock Scenario Drills Testing
Maintenance Planning
Operational Procedures (SOP, EOP, MOP)

Data Center Floor Airflow Management
Technical Expertise & Knowledge
Standby generators, UPS systems, PDUs, and ATSs.
Air-cooled and water-cooled chilled water plants and distribution systems.
Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs) and Air Conditioners (CRACs).
Water treatment and filtration systems.
Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Data Center Information Management systems (DCIM).
Engineering Knowledge Of
Psychrometric charts, HVAC load calculations, and hydronic pipe sizing.
Reading electrical one-lines, chilled, and condenser water diagrams.
Standard sequences of operation for electrical and mechanical data center systems.
Electrical power calculations per NFPA 70 (NEC), coordination, arc-flash studies (NFPA 70E), and maintenance practices (NFPA 70B).
Industry standards, including ASHRAE Datacom/TC 9.9 and OCP publications.
Principles of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance.
Energy efficiency metrics (e.g., PUE, WUE) and sustainable data center practices.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field is preferred.
Highly adaptable and communicative leader with 10+ years of experience managing facility engineering teams is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mind.
Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information.
Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and retention preferred.
Experience with CMMS, BMS, DCIM, and EPMS is preferred.
Skilled in Bluebeam and/or CAD software is preferred.
