leading spaceflight avionics organization
seeking a
Senior Test Engineer
to support mission-critical spacecraft and defense programs. This role sits at the intersection of
hardware, software, and systems testing , supporting advanced space and defense platforms from development through qualification and acceptance. The work directly contributes to
flight hardware
used in government and commercial space missions. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced test engineers who enjoy
hands-on engineering , ownership of complex test systems, and working in highly collaborative, technically rigorous environments. What You'll Do:
Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Design and develop
Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
including hardware, software, and documentation
Select and integrate
COTS test instruments , custom test enclosures, and cabling
Ensure test hardware fully validates
contractual and design requirements
for units under test (UUTs)
Unit Under Test (UUT) & Systems Testing Support UUTs that include
embedded Single Board Computers (SBCs) , custom analog/digital I/O boards, and
Electrical Power System (EPS)
boards
Test Command & Data Handling (C&DH) systems, power switching, solar array interfaces, and battery charging subsystems
Test Software & Automation Develop
LabVIEW VIs
for instrument control, monitoring, and operator user interfaces
Create
Python or PERL scripts
to automate test execution and integrate with LabVIEW and VxWorks environments
Collaborate with firmware and software teams to support system-level test execution
Documentation & Compliance Create and maintain schematics, assemblies, and parts lists using
Visio, Excel , and document control systems
Author formal
Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, and Acceptance Test Procedures
Support qualification and acceptance testing in compliance with customer and program requirements
Leadership & Collaboration Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to meet schedules and technical requirements
Mentor junior engineers in test development, debugging, and execution
Take ownership of assignments and proactively drive results
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering
7–10 years of relevant test engineering experience
Hands-on experience with
LabVIEW ,
C , and/or
Python
Experience with
circuit board design , cabling, and hardware integration
Knowledge of
hardware design and system-level testing
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Visio, Word, Excel)
Ability to work in the United States
without visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred / Nice to Have:
Experience with
VxWorks
test environments
Familiarity with
VHDL
and FPGA integration
Background in aerospace, defense, or other regulated engineering environments
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range:
$120,000 – $150,000 (Phoenix, AZ market)
