AS400 Developer Client: Xyant Services, Inc.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of iSeries code that supports Retail applications.

Lead Architectural Design Discussions and drive engineering best practices to deliver higher quality and scalable solutions.

Develop high quality, efficient, and fault‑tolerant software.

Participate in the development and documentation of department standards and best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Adhere to divisional standards for code development and deployment activities.

Identify deficiencies within a product/application code base and opportunities to improve overall code quality.

Conduct peer code reviews for software changes made by other engineers.

Collaborate with team members (e.g., Systems Architects, Systems Analysts) to define project specifications and release documentation for all phases of the product development cycle.

Analyze and develop iSeries code that supports Enterprise retail and supply chain applications.

Create functional specifications for applications using standard practices, processes, and procedures.

Perform code reviews, unit testing, and coordinate with team members on development and QA tasks.

Collaborate with Product Owner, business area, team members, and QA to ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and documented.

Participate in development estimation, deployment, and release planning to ensure delivery of solutions.

Deliver artifacts and application solutions on agreed delivery dates.

Own 2nd level support resolution of daily incident tickets; create KB articles for 1st level support.

Continue personal growth in technology, business knowledge, and company policies.

Maintain reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Required Experience & Skills

5 years functional and technical design experience.

7+ years programming experience with RPGLE, SQL, and CL on iSeries (AS/400).

Experience with iSeries DB2/400, Turnover, X Analysis.

Experience designing, developing, and maintaining real‑time large‑scale business applications.

Ability to collaborate with technical experts and develop solution and functional design documents.

Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests.

Availability to support off‑hours work as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on‑call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Recommended

Familiarity with SAP Master Data and MDG Application capabilities and integration.

Familiarity with integration tools such as IBM WebSphere Broker, IBM ACS.

Good understanding of Agile development practices and methodologies.

Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail).

Successful internal candidates have spent one year or more on their current team.

Understanding of API development, with an emphasis on security and performance.
