Sequoias Community College District is seeking a qualified and equity-minded candidate to fill a full‑time, tenure‑track position in the Nutrition Department beginning August 2026. Assignments may include evening classes and teaching at any of the Sequoias Community College District campuses: Visalia, Hanford, and/or Tulare. Participation in the governance of the District by way of committee assignments is encouraged.
*College of the Sequoias offers lecture‑lab pay parity, as well as overload and large lecture compensation that may be additional.

Job Duties This position is responsible for teaching nutrition courses, which may include introductory classes for both majors and non‑majors, sports nutrition, food safety, and other related topics. The faculty member will also explore opportunities to develop new CTE nutrition pathways, revise curriculum to align with transfer requirements and local workforce needs, and support students pursuing careers as Registered Dietitians.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours, actively engaging with campus culture, participating in departmental responsibilities, and fostering an equitable atmosphere that respects diversity throughout the District.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in nutrition, dietetics or dietetics and food administration
OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in chemistry, public health or family and consumer studies/home economics
OR The Equivalent (NOTE: A bachelor's in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration, and certification as a registered dietitian, is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)
Job Required Core System Competency:
The candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse backgrounds of community college students pursuant to Title 5 §53022.

Desirable Qualifications:
Certification as a registered dietician.
Prior experience providing nutrition education to a variety of audiences.
Familiarity with career path and options in nutrition field.
Familiarity with nutrition in various contexts.
Prior experience overseeing interns or certified dietary managers, or similar.
Possession of a current food safety manager certification meeting California Health and Safety Code 113947 as a Certified Food Manager or Person in Charge.
Active involvement in industry‑related professional organizations and evidence of continued professional development in the nutrition field.
Ability to incorporate student learning outcome objectives within courses and programs and willingness to use and develop stated objectives and measures.
