Senior Workday HRIS Absence Analyst

This role requires strong technical skills, collaboration abilities, and the ability to lead projects while supporting day-to-day system needs. It is a hands‑on position that spans multiple HRIS technologies, including payroll, absence, and time tracking with the primary focus on Absence.
Job Summary Collaborates with Business Partners, Product Team and Cross Functional Teams to deliver timely and high‑quality solutions per the specific needs of the business. Supports user stories and help cases focused on configuring package software and troubleshooting issues.
Responsibilities
Configuring and optimizing Workday for specific HR functions.
Providing day‑to‑day system support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Collaborating with HR leadership and cross‑functional teams on process improvements.
Documenting business requirements and workflows in relevant documentation.
Actively seeking opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Use the Workday Community site to troubleshoot and identify ways to better utilize the system.
Prepare and deliver Workday reports to stakeholders across the company.
Primary contact for all Workday Absence questions, and issue resolution.
Performer in Workday configuration and testing process.
Continually researches, tests and stays up‑to‑date on all Workday updates, fixes and capabilities.
Ensures that our internal customers issues and requests are addressed within documented SLA’s.
Understands and translates the priorities of the business while integrating HR value proposition and strategies to meet the needs of the business.
Partners with HR Tech to deliver and test system integrations.
Manages configuration of the Workday system while providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to partner teams.
Maintains up‑to‑date documentation and controls.
Proficient in creating and updating simple integrations, configurations and loading of data via the appropriate system method (e.g., EIB).
Identify functional gaps in existing processes or operations when business needs change and provide solutions.
Evaluate incoming requests from HR, Finance, IT and other groups, identify appropriate solutions and execute on them.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent for the specific role responsibilities.
Mandatory Experience
3–5 years of experience in Workday configuration is a must have.
Strong knowledge of continuous integration / continuous delivery practices.
Demonstrated “agile‑development” mindset with strong customer‑focus & results‑orientation.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced agile environment, adapt to shifting urgencies, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills to effectively manage key business stakeholder relationships, and where required – customer and supplier partnerships/relationships.
Highly proficient in teamwork and collaboration skills.
