A Typical Day The Finance Data Modeler is responsible for providing operational services to the Finance Division through the management of data structures, views, and statistical calculations. Develops data models to meet the Finance Division’s reporting needs by staying informed on how data is used for Financial Reporting, Compliance, FP&A, and Treasury Reporting, while working to maintain data integrity by eliminating redundancy.
Responsibilities
Optimizes the data integrations into Snowflake from upstream systems, internally development applications, and Finance 3rd party applications to produce efficiency in report computing
Creates and maintains data structures, statistical calculations and various other reporting requirements in Snowflake
Manages existing reporting views to stay in sync with upstream changes
Supports data governance initiatives as it relates to SOX reviews and documentation
Understanding of, and ability to comprehend, datasets with an eye toward their usage for different reporting requirements
Partners with Applications Development team to find strategic solutions to recurring problems with database performance
Implement data partitioning and database tuning to enable data warehouse scalability
Work as part of a team and provide ongoing support as required for financial close procedures
Work on strategic projects, as needed
Supports in troubleshooting, performance issues and setting up new databases
Set up and maintain documentation and standards
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, preferred
Experience with database optimization and performance tuning
Programming experience with emphasis on designing complex SQL queries and business components
Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture and exposure to building dimensional data models
Experience in SOX audit
Excellent written and verbal communication ability
Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
Financial services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management

Salary $75,000 - $130,000
