Goede, DeBoest & Cross, PLLC is seeking a full time Associate Attorney to join our growing Coral Gables office. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney who enjoys a mix of work and is interested in supporting a busy community association practice, with preference for candidates who also bring corporate and banking experience.
Position Overview The Associate Attorney will work on a variety of matters, with a primary focus on representing condominium and homeowners associations. Candidates with a background in corporate and or banking law are strongly preferred and will have the opportunity to apply those skills to loan transactions and related corporate work for commercial and banking clients. Prior association law experience is not required, but the candidate must be eager to learn and to assist with a rapidly growing practice.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with general counsel representation of condominium, cooperative, and homeowners associations, including contract review, covenant and document interpretation, and related transactional work
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, corporate documents, and, if applicable, loan agreements and related transactional documents
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, opinions, and correspondence for clients and internal use
Communicate with clients, management companies, lenders, and other stakeholders in a professional and responsive manner
Support senior attorneys in managing active files and meeting deadlines across multiple practice areas
Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar
Minimum of three (3) years of legal experience
Corporate and or banking law experience strongly preferred
Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills and a client service oriented mindset
Willingness to learn community association law and contribute to a growing practice
In person presence in the Coral Gables office is preferred
