MDS Director – Athena Health Care Systems
Location: Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Marlborough.
Employment Type: Full-time.
Overview We are hiring a full-time MDS Director to join our dynamic care team at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. The role includes overseeing resident care plans through clinical assessment, review of resident's medical history, personal interviews, and completion of MDS reports. Compensation includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus (available*), up to $53 per hour, and a salaried role with weekly pay. Must be a registered nurse (RN).
Experience & Education
Minimum: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school, college, or university.
Current, unencumbered RN license in this state.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordination of the MDS process.
Oversee ADL training for facility and staff.
Issue and deliver denial notices timely and appropriately.
Complete and transmit all CMS‑approved item sets (MDS).
Be knowledgeable of and follow current CMS regulatory guidelines as described in the RAI Manual.
Comply with facility privacy policies and procedures and protect residents’ health information.
Maintain Medicare meeting minutes per Medicare program agreement.
Issue and deliver Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations.
Assure appropriate management of residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits.
Maintain adequate systems to support billed services.
Perform other duties assigned by manager.
Specific Requirements
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Capacity for independent decision‑making when circumstances warrant.
Skill in dealing tactfully with personnel, residents, family, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
Ability to coordinate MDS systems, resident assessment, and care plans for each resident in a timely manner.
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines in long‑term care.
Leadership and supervisory ability; willingness to collaborate with professional and non‑professional personnel.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm; willingness to handle difficult residents.
Openness to new methods and principles, and a willingness to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
Effective communication skills for emergency situations.
Accurate and comprehensive assessment skills that meet standards of nursing practice.
