Overview
Outpatient Imaging - White Oak. Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced MRI Technologist for our Outpatient Imaging Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates proficiency in operating MRI scanners and all ancillary equipment.
Properly identifies and performs MRI safety procedures on all patients including those with implantable devices.
Understands principles and dangers involved in the administration of oral and intravenous contrast. Identifies contraindications to IV contrast administration and recognizes symptoms of IV contrast reactions.
Accurately documents MRI exams, contrast administration and other relevant information in the EMR, PACS, HConnect and other systems as necessary.
Maximizes patient throughput and demonstrates teamwork with coworkers by managing patient load using the one MRI scanner including the transport of patients when necessary.
Collaborates with coworkers, radiologists, referring physicians, nurses, other departments to ensure best patient care possible.
Performs periodic QA procedures as necessary.
Contributes to the time management of the department by being punctual to work and on assignments according to hospital standards.
Participates in PI projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school or GED
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
1 year scanning experience. Three years’ experience in MRI preferred
ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI
IV Certification preferred
State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Work Schedule and Compensation
Per diem rate is $55/hour. Availability for Day/ Evening shifts. Must be able to rotate to any OPI office.
Pay Range: If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Non-Exempt)
