System Performance Engineer – Northern California Communication Technology Services (CTS) is a leading integrator and managed service provider for enterprise cellular networks in the United States, delivering custom carrier‑grade in‑building and campus connectivity solutions to enterprises, public sector, and mobile network operators.

Job Description As part of the South Florida Operations Team, the System Performance Engineer ensures installed systems perform and operate as designed, meeting CTS and customer standards, SLA’s, and contractual obligations. The role requires regional travel within Northern California.

Responsibilities

Onsite technical implementation and troubleshooting of In‑Building DAS and other managed networks.

Perform pre‑ and post‑RF benchmark data collection and analysis.

Interface with CTS operations teams to verify accurate network build with highest quality standards.

Conduct CW testing, spectrum analysis, segment and system sweep testing, PIM and OTDR testing as required.

Perform DAS maintenance, including fault analysis, interference mitigation, and link balancing.

Support CTS NOC: respond to technical trouble tickets to investigate and resolve performance issues with In‑Building DAS systems; after‑hours may be required to meet SLA’s.

Assist in DAS troubleshooting during maintenance windows, collaborating with mobile network operators and neutral host venues.

Oversee AHJ inspections and 3rd‑party testing when necessary.

Collaborate with CTS operation teams and clients to meet or exceed contractual obligations and client expectations.

Provide technical guidance to project managers and construction team members to mitigate or prevent issues during the project.

Communicate project impact issues to Regional Directors/Operations Managers and customers.

Use hand tools for minor installation tasks.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation using CTS’ cloud‑based file system.

Create and generate technical updates, reports, and MOPs for In‑Building DAS systems; conduct field work and organize test/measurement files.

Manage project deliverables for close‑out package.

Continuously improve practices based on lessons learned in design and implementation.

Learn new DAS hardware and software quickly when working under pressure.

Qualifications

3–5 years of RF Engineering, In‑Building DAS, RAN or Small Cell experience with RF math competency.

Advanced knowledge of industry test equipment (spectrum analyzer, demodulator, cable analyzer, power meters, scanners, UE’s).

Experience commissioning DAS OEMs such as CommScope, Corning, JMA, ADRF or similar.

Ability to complete RF link budgets, power sharing and noise figure calculations.

Ability to interpret blueprints and iBwave design files.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Creative problem‑solving and ability to meet customer deadlines; act as the “go‑to” person for CTS/customer issues.

Calm under pressure and maintain a positive professional attitude.

Logical troubleshooting skills to isolate issues in distributed antenna systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient computer skills: Bluebeam, Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio).

Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly to change.

Self‑motivated and able to work independently and in teams with a positive attitude.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region.

Salary & Benefits Salary: $80,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience.

Full‑time position.
