Role Summary We are looking for a strong candidate to join our Finance & Business Operations organization as part of Cloudflare’s Global Commissions Tooling & Strategy. This role will provide both technical and operational support to the team, ensuring accurate and timely deployment of compensation solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and configure Varicent compensation models and calculation logic; act as the primary technical builder for system enhancements, ensuring plans are set up accurately and on time.
Identify and implement best‑practice configurations and build techniques, optimizing for scalability and usability while ensuring solutions align with stakeholder needs.
Plan and execute end‑to‑end testing (QA/UAT) for all system changes, identify bugs, validate fixes, and ensure error‑free deployments.
Review and analyze application performance to provide enhancement recommendations and process improvements.
Provide risk assessment for new functionality and enhancements.
Build extensive solution/documentation and enablement infrastructure, scaling consistent practices, documentation and desktop procedures for tool functionality.
Build deep knowledge and leverage relationships to influence outcomes and prioritization of upstream system enhancements that directly impact ICM practice.
Monitor data flows between upstream systems (CRM, HCM) and Varicent, troubleshoot integration errors and collaborate with IT/Data teams to resolve discrepancies.
Task management and delivery: independently manage project timelines and priorities, balancing daily support tickets with larger system builds to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
Must Have Skills
4+ years in sales compensation, sales operations, or systems administration, preferably within a high‑growth SaaS environment.
3+ years of hands‑on experience configuring Varicent (or a similar enterprise ICM tool like Anaplan/Xactly), including component building, scheduler management, and calculation logic.
Firm grasp of end‑to‑end commission processes, including plan document tracking, transaction crediting, complex incentive calculations, and dispute resolution.
Strong SQL skills with the ability to write queries for data analysis and troubleshooting; experience handling large, complex datasets is required.
Analytical, detail‑oriented, and an effective communicator; a natural problem‑solver capable of troubleshooting complex data discrepancies and validating calculations before they impact the business.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with a SaaS business model.
Prior experience working in the SaaS, cybersecurity, or cloud infrastructure space, familiarity with usage‑based or consumption‑based compensation models.
Advanced Data Handling Experience working with large‑scale, complex datasets.
