This highly experienced engineering position guides the design, building, and maintenance of software used in medical devices.
The role applies standard engineering practices to resolve high‑complexity problems and mentors junior engineers. Location & Availability
Position is onsite 3 days per week in North Andover, MA.

Base pay range: $150,000 – $155,000 per year.
Eligibility to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 10% of base salary.

Guide the conceptualization of new methodologies and identify improvements for processes and best practices of software development. Generate innovative solutions to complex problems using multiple disciplines and technical principles; advise senior management on appropriate action. Analyze, plan, design, execute, and document high‑complexity software applications and/or processes within established medical product design controls. Design and develop software adhering to product requirements, definitions, and program goals; apply standard techniques to solve complex problems and perform root cause and failure analysis. Work with senior leadership to improve software engineering process efficiency. Conduct code reviews to confirm software implementation meets approved designs, specifications, and quality standards. Mentor and guide junior staff; provide advice and assistance on routine and unique problems; may supervise or direct Sr engineers and lower‑level engineers on assigned projects. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required; preferred. 8+ years of experience in software engineering, troubleshooting, and problem solving. Experience with software development life‑cycle methodology and medical device development processes; FDA regulations a plus. Advanced experience in object‑oriented design patterns in multi‑tiered and multi‑layered architectures. Advanced experience with C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Windows Services, and Web Services required. Experience with HTTP, SOAP, and REST protocols; internet networking design architecture for real‑time communications a plus. Experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, GCP desired. Experience with microservices and Kubernetes desired. Experience working with virtual and cloud environments required; VMWare experience desired. Experience with automated testing (Unit, Integration, System, Performance, Load/Stress, Regression) desired. Knowledge of source control management; Git/Bitbucket desired.
