Position Description The Rutishauser Lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Experimental Medicine at UCSF seeks a highly motivated candidate with a PhD or MD/PhD and a background in Immunology to lead funded projects aimed at improving T cell‑based therapies to control HIV in the absence of antiretroviral therapy. Our laboratory studies the regulation of HIV‑specific T cell function and exhaustion in natural infection and after therapeutic intervention in people. The Researcher will lead studies characterizing HIV‑specific CD8 +

T cells in various natural infection and therapeutic contexts, applying methods in high‑dimensional single‑cell analysis (spectral flow cytometry, single‑cell RNA/TCR sequencing) to assess T cell transcriptional state and function as well as T cell engineering. They will also oversee work by up to two pre‑ or post‑doctoral fellows in the lab, and be expected to assist the PI with writing manuscripts and grants.

Salary range: $93,400–$122,100.
