Financial Analyst – QCT OpEx Finance

Exceptional opportunity to work in QCT Finance and manage R&D headcount and expense reporting as part of the Centralized Opex team. The position will partner with the Engineering organization to consolidate expense forecasts by project and tech team, and oversee the headcount and expense targets for Engineering groups and business units. Monthly and quarterly responsibilities include financial forecasting and reporting, variance analysis, and management‑level presentations. Additional duties involve performing ad hoc analysis and proactively improving business processes that impact finance. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple projects and deliverables. The role provides cross‑functional collaboration with Program Management, Product Management, Engineering, and Finance business unit teams, and requires extensive use of Excel, PowerPoint, TM1, and Tableau. Applicants must be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working in a fast‑paced environment.
Location: San Diego, CA. Position requires onsite full‑time presence.
Responsibilities
Partner with Engineering to consolidate expense forecasts by project and tech team.
Oversee headcount and expense targets for Engineering groups and business units.
Conduct monthly and quarterly financial forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
Deliver management‑level presentations.
Perform ad hoc analysis and drive process improvements impacting finance.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Program Management, Product Management, Engineering, and Finance teams.
Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, TM1, and Tableau for projects and presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
1+ year of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.
Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year of work experience (Master’s = one year).
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills.
Strict attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience with Tableau and Cognos TM1 (or similar).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Power Automate, and other analytical tools and frameworks, including generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Databricks, etc.).
Pay Range & Benefits $72,800.00 - $109,200.00
Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. Additional compensation includes a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants. A comprehensive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
