Extrusion Team Lead Position

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities
Operates and makes adjustments to all blown film systems.
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for machine, process, and safeguards.
Maintains blown film products in conformance with specifications and manufacturing instructions and can explain to others.
Ensures production reports and job jackets are neat, complete, accurate, and maintain traceability.
Maintains a clean and safe working area, leading others in improving standards.
Performs all required quality tests.
Proficiently operates and troubleshoots blown film machines and processes.
Performs set‑ups with waste at acceptable levels, trains and leads SMED events.
Conducts extrusion machine/process train‑the‑trainer sessions.
Performs gap analysis of knowledge and develops training plans for extrusion personnel.
Trains and monitors all extrusion skills and performs skill check audits.
Identifies resins, films, understands physical properties of materials and their impact on overall material function.
Troubleshoots blown film process issues.
Reviews and approves daily production and waste reporting.
Completes direct reports performance appraisals as required.
Develops bench strength for each shift position.
Ensures inventory cycle counting is accurate and completed on time.
Microsoft Office computer experience is expected.
Communicates at all plant levels and capable of making decisions.
Performs quality tests using equipment and solves issues with mechanical aptitude.
Motivates a team to continually improve blown film processes and reads manufacturing instructions for efficient scheduling.
Full understanding of specs and how to interpret them.
Clear understanding of measuring tools.
Effective oral & written communication skills and compliance with safety procedures.
Leads others, trains, teaches, coaches, and collaborates as a team player.
Flexible to work in other areas of the facility as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
Proficiently operates and troubleshoots blown film machines and processes.
Coordinates efficient changeovers and weekly PMs.
Experience with JDE ERP System preferred.
Functions as a change agent in developing a positive culture focused on continuous improvement.
Trains, teaches, and coaches others.
Identifies resins, films and understands mechanical properties of materials.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma.
Demonstrated ability to run/troubleshoot blown film lines and train extrusion operators.
Ability to climb and descend stairs.
Willingness to work in a team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Ownership of personal safety and safety of the team.
