Overview We are seeking a driven and experienced Plant Manager to lead and elevate the performance of our Chicago food manufacturing facility. This hands‑on leadership role is critical in maintaining our commitment to exceptional quality, strict safety standards, and authentic production methods.
Job Duties
Lead daily operations across production, packaging, maintenance, sanitation, receiving, and shipping, ensuring output, quality, and schedule targets are met.
Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing OSHA and regulatory compliance.
Oversee plant budgeting and cost‑control initiatives, supporting annual planning processes.
Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and waste‑reduction initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Develop and mentor supervisors and production leads by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional growth.
Analyze key operational metrics (OEE, uptime, efficiency) to identify gaps and implement targeted improvement strategies.
Communicate plant goals clearly, lead regular team meetings, and promote a culture of engagement and accountability.
Ensure all products meet company quality standards and traditional authenticity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
5-10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, ideally in food production.
Demonstrated success in safety leadership, problem solving, and Lean manufacturing practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using production systems or data analysis tools.
Ability to balance high‑quality standards with efficiency, cost, and safety requirements.
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
