About the Company Professional Tree Care Co. has over 45 years of experience in the tree care industry. The company seeks a self‑motivated payroll professional to process payroll using ADP and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
About the Job The Payroll Coordinator reports to the Human Resources & Payroll Manager and works as part of a two‑person payroll team. Primary duties include ensuring timely and accurate payroll, training staff on ADP time‑keeping software, visiting field locations, and supporting HR functions.
Essential Functions
Process payroll for up to 99 Bay Area employees on a weekly, bi‑monthly, and certified payroll schedule.
Perform HR tasks such as onboarding, background checks, and benefit administration.
Train staff in the use of the ADP application on smartphones across multiple locations.
Drive to field and remote sites for onboarding, off‑boarding, or assistance.
Accurately process hourly payroll, including overtime, commissions, bonuses, taxes, 401(k) contributions, and health insurance premiums.
Create reports outlining deductions, overtime, tax liabilities, etc.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax filings.
Collaborate with HR on benefits, PTO deductions, promotions, separations, and attendance data.
Act as backup to the HR/Payroll Manager when necessary.
Work full‑time on‑site on the second floor of a building without an elevator; remote work is not available.

Compensation and Benefits This full‑time, permanent position offers an hourly rate of $26.00–$30.00 based on experience.
