Position Overview METCON is seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5+ years of experience to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects throughout the Bay Area. This individual will be responsible for on-site supervision, safety enforcement, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring the quality execution of projects in accordance with plans, schedules, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day on-site operations for commercial construction projects.
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field personnel.
Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
Conduct weekly site meetings and enforce METCON’s safety.
Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and quality control documentation.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee the project schedule, budget, and materials.
Interface with clients, inspectors, vendors, and city officials as needed.
Coordinate inspections and resolve field issues to maintain project momentum.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.
Qualifications
5 years of experience as a superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of building systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Hands‑on experience with Procore and Microsoft Project.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high‑end tenant improvements in commercial office, labs, and industrial spaces.
