Job Summary The Box Office Representative is a part-time, front‑line, non‑exempt position that is responsible for selling single, group, and subscription tickets for Boston Ballet performances and for providing excellent customer service and accurate information to all patrons.
Essential Functions
Process subscriptions, exchanges, tickets, comps, group sales, refunds, donations, and gift cards using Tessitura (Boston Ballet's customer relationship management database)
Balance and reconcile sales/exchange activities daily
Receive and respond to inbound calls, messages, and emails with a high level of customer service and a focus on being friendly, energetic, patient, and empathetic, and with a strong ability to problem‑solve difficult situations
Staying organized and aware of Box Office policies and general Boston Ballet information to accurately respond to customer inquiries, questions about subscriptions or ticket and discount information, performance schedule, casting, and special events
Work at the theatre in the Box Office during performance weeks to process sales, distribute tickets, and resolve customer issues
Perform various administrative tasks: dispense tickets in person and via mail, package subscriptions, accurately file orders
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales and customer service
Strong customer service skills; professional, enthusiastic, and accurate with numbers and details
Flexible, positive attitude with ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment
Computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
Experience with Tessitura a plus
Enthusiasm to contribute to a work environment that strives for diversity, equity, and inclusion
Some evenings and weekends required during performance weeks
Pay Rate $17.00/hour
