Accounting Manager
Job Description The Accounting Manager will oversee the administration of employee equity programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audits related to equity compensation.
Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day operations of employee equity programs, including grants, vesting schedules, and distributions.
Maintain accurate records of equity transactions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with HR on employee communications and education regarding equity plans.
Prepare and reconcile equity‑related journal entries and ensure proper classification in financial statements.
Support month‑end and year‑end close processes related to equity compensation.
Assist with audits and provide documentation for internal and external auditors.
Ensure adherence to SEC, IRS, and other applicable regulations governing equity compensation.
Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements impacting equity programs.
Maintain internal controls and documentation for all equity‑related activities.
Partner with HR, Legal, and external vendors to manage plan administration and compliance.
Provide guidance to employees and leadership on equity plan mechanics and reporting.
Support compensation committee reporting and presentations.
Identify opportunities to streamline equity administration processes.
Contribute to strategic planning for future equity programs and enhancements.
Essential Skills
Management experience (3+ years managing a team of 3–5+ direct reports)
Strong interest in learning more about equity compensation
Proficient in Excel
Strong communication skills with internal teams and colleagues
Sense of urgency
Understanding of equity awards and options
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with OptionTrax
Experience in the financial services industry
Experience with equity compensation
Work Environment
This position requires working on‑site for five days a week in an office with numerous perks, including free lunches and snacks. The office is located in a prime location right on the water, with convenient parking options either in front of the building or in a garage across the street. Additionally, there is an allowance provided to cover parking costs.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 – $75.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
