YouthBuild Boston is a community-based education and workforce development program dedicated to empowering young adults, ages 16–24, who have faced barriers to traditional education or employment. The program provides students with opportunities to earn a high school diploma or equivalent while gaining hands‑on experience in construction, leadership, and community service. YouthBuild Boston emphasizes holistic support, including academic instruction, career development, and personal growth, preparing participants for post‑secondary education, careers, and long‑term success.

Member Duties The VISTA will strengthen YouthBuild’s career readiness infrastructure by designing and implementing a comprehensive, year‑round career development framework. Key responsibilities include conducting labor market research, mapping career pathways, developing assessment tools, and creating a Career Exploration Toolkit. The VISTA will cultivate employer and educational partnerships, coordinate mock interviews, recruit industry volunteers, and secure professional attire for students. They will also design curricula on soft skills, resume writing, and interview preparation, while documenting processes and evaluating program effectiveness. Using surveys and feedback tools, the VISTA will recommend improvements and establish sustainable systems to ensure students are prepared for employment or post‑secondary pathways.
