Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Boston Scientific is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee resources and activities, ensuring Divisional, Site, and Value Stream objectives are met.
This manager directs manufacturing engineers in technical strategy, designing tools, controls, equipment, and processes for manufacturing operations, while focusing on team development, performance management, and organizational leadership.
This role follows an onsite work model. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.
Salary range: Minimum $99,100 – Maximum $188,300. (Actual salary may vary based on location and experience.)
Your Responsibilities
Serve as the manufacturing engineering lead for one or more of the Arden Hills manufacturing value streams or functional teams.
Provide direction and guidance to engineering staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.
Align resources and identify opportunities for improvement within the existing processes and systems.
Build strong relationships and collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality, R&D, Supplier Engineering, and Process Development functions.
Ensure that inputs from all customers are understood, plans are appropriately developed, and drive accountability and execution of the plans.
Utilize excellent communication skills, demonstrating leadership and communicating both up and down the organization including change leadership.
Influence, guide, and manage internal and external resources to achieve program goals.
Promote an entrepreneurial culture and provide significant guidance and input regarding technical strategies and approaches.
Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent.
Keep the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
Develop and execute organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills.
Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g., compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
Develop, monitor, and appropriately adjust the annual budget for one or more functional areas.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
5+ years of related work experience.
2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
Demonstrated track record of project management execution.
Experience with manufacturing process improvement, critical thinking and lean production tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in engineering or business.
Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing.
Ability to communicate at various levels of the organization.
