Job Description The Director of Loss Prevention will be responsible for directing and overseeing the day‑to‑day functions of the security department, including protection of hotel guests, associates and property.

Responsibilities

Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.

Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards to the appropriate Department Manager and Executive Committee Member.

Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents). Complete within 48 hours.

Maintains surveillance procedures throughout the property.

Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Director of Rooms.

Monitors all traffic in the lobby, restaurant, restrooms, parking area, bars, and back‑of‑house area.

Ensures that all hotel service levels are maintained and provides assistance when necessary.

Acts as the hotel representative when resolving guest problems and concerns by handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others. Ensures that all details of guest situations are documented and communicated to appropriate department personnel.

Liaises with all department heads to ensure hotel associates are adhering to established safety and security procedures.

Oversees and guides the efforts of the Safety Committee, conducting monthly meetings and following up on any issues.

Completes Moments of Service Checklists monthly.

Replenishes First Aid Kits throughout the resort.

Conducts regular mock fire evacuation drills as per Omni emergency standards.

Establishes crisis management and contingency planning.

Interviews, selects, reviews and trains new security officers according to Omni standards to maintain order throughout the resort.

Conducts ongoing Security department training.

Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures and radio codes.

Is available 24 hours a day for genuine emergencies within the property.

When necessary, administers corrective action with associates.

Ensures follow‑up communication and appropriate documentation with necessary departments to resolve hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.

Ensures all Security equipment (i.e., uniforms, walkie‑talkies, cameras) are kept in good working condition.

Conducts extinguisher and CPR training classes and monthly OSHA training.

Conducts monthly department meetings.

Maintains a continual line of communication with the Director of Rooms and Director of Human Resources.

Distributes the monthly Hotel Incident/Accident Log to Managing Manager/GM.

Champions and drives the Omni culture.

Qualifications

Must have 5+ years of experience in a Loss Prevention/Security Management role.

Red Cross and First Aid Certified.

Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale establishment preferred.

Previous hospitality experience preferred.

Proven professionalism with guests and associates required.

Experience with and familiarity with OSHA standards required.

Previous experience with training and maintenance of safety standards.

Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Must be able to lift moderate to heavy weight.
