This position manages entry and intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of support employees in Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering. Sets day-to-day goals, and provides guidance regarding specification requirements, improving products, and reducing costs. The role will oversee the three work streams in Everett: Lavatories, Waste and Water systems, and Cabin Integration. The role is eligible for relocation and may require up to 25% travel.
What You Will Do
Instruct, direct, and check the work of manufacturing/industrial engineers to ensure that quality and manufacturing standards are met.
Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.
Design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and other functions that affect product performance, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to enhance performance and manufacturing capabilities.
Manage a team of entry to professional level engineers, with the freedom to determine how assignments are completed.
Mentor team members, set objectives and guide others on approach and execution to achieve business results.
Ensure adherence to standard work.
Lead cross‑functional teams to solve complex issues.
Provide technical leadership to develop statistical process control and digital manufacturing execution systems.
Be responsible for identifying and implementing capital expenditure projects.
Ensure the protection of Collins Aerospace and safeguard of customer and supplier/partner intellectual property.
Lead the ME/IE team on shop‑floor problem solving and support.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience; in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
Strong project planning, communication, and resource management skills.
Ability to work across the organization and various disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Program Office, and Business Development.
Experience running multiple complex projects and integrated cross‑functional teams.
Conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
Qualifications We Prefer
Familiarity with CORE, policy deployment, and continuous improvement activities.
Experience with databases and software tool development.
Experience implementing process automation.
Talent management, training, and development experience.

The salary range for this role is US$137,000 – US$275,000. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
