Events Associate
A nationally recognized, mission-driven
nonprofit public policy organization
headquartered in Washington, DC is seeking an
Events Associate
to support the planning and execution of high-profile in-person and virtual events. Established in the late 1930s, this institution is among the
top ten largest think tanks in the United States
and plays a meaningful role in shaping national and global policy discussions.
This is a full-time, on-site role within a
highly professional, intellectually rigorous environment
where you’ll regularly interact with senior policymakers, scholars, donors, and prominent public leaders. The organization values individuals who can confidently represent its mission and culture when engaging with external stakeholders.
The Events Associate supports policy scholars and internal teams by coordinating logistics for daily programs as well as large-scale signature events. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is
detail-oriented, polished, and excited by public policy and event execution
in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate logistics for
in-person and virtual events , working closely with scholars and their teams
Support major annual programs, including a
black-tie gala
and a
multi-day policy summit
Assist with special events (departmental, institutional, and donor-focused), including:
Venue research and coordination
Manage event calendars and ensure daily meeting needs are met (setup, food & beverage, AV)
Maintain and update the events webpage using
WordPress
Produce metrics reports; export, format, and present data
Draft and distribute event invitations, reminders, and follow-up communications via
email marketing platforms
Partner with internal design teams on event and conference materials
Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase team efficiency
Provide general support to the events team as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
required; strong interest in
public policy
0–2 years
of full-time professional experience (internships in events, logistics, or communications preferred)
Excellent technical and analytical skills
Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and presentation preferred
Strong client-facing and customer service abilities
Able to work independently, proactively, and with discretion
Comfortable in a
fast-paced, highly professional environment
Detail-oriented, organized, poised, and collaborative communicator Preferred Technical Experience
Microsoft Office (especially
Excel )
CRM and marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo)
WordPress
Event tools such as Social Tables
Database management, metrics analysis
Graphic design and HTML (a plus)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
Ability to lift up to
30 pounds
as needed
Comfortable working in a moderately noisy office environment
