Client:
Provides high‑speed fiber optic internet, data transport, and data center solutions to businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies. TEKsystems has become a trusted partner for scaling the technology workforce. They are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Data Architect to lead data governance, security, and management initiatives surrounding their recent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement the enterprise data architecture ensuring data is secure, reliable, and accessible for business‑critical functions.
Define data strategy, enforce best practices, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align the data ecosystem with business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance; 8+ years designing enterprise‑level data architectures.
Extensive experience with data modeling, warehousing, and modern data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Deep expertise in SQL/NoSQL, big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop), and data governance & security principles.
Experience structuring data for machine learning/AI workloads and using MLOps platforms.
Hands‑on with data classification and cataloging tools such as Collibra or Alation.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to influence across the organization.
Professional certifications in data architecture, governance, or cloud platforms preferred.
Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) preferred.
Self‑starter, continual learner, critical thinker, organized, and efficient multitasker.
Employment type & Location:
Contract to Hire, fully onsite in Kansas City, MO.
Pay & Benefits:
Pay range: $70.00 – $85.00/hr.
