Information Technology & Operations Director Position Overview

The Information Technology & Operations Director leads the organization’s digital transformation and IT strategy by driving cloud modernization, cybersecurity resilience, regulatory compliance, and data‑driven innovation. This role ensures operational excellence, effective risk management, and an enhanced customer experience through strong technology governance and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute IT strategy, digital transformation initiatives, and technology governance aligned with organizational objectives.

Lead cloud‑first architecture and operations (100% cloud), including multi‑region and multi‑cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), resilience (RTO/RPO), FinOps, automation, and observability.

Oversee modern software development and delivery practices, including Agile/SAFe, CI/CD, SRE, DevSecOps, automated QA, and API/microservices integration.

Direct cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery programs aligned with frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001.

Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, including GLBA, FFIEC, PCI DSS, SOX‑ITGC, and related standards.

Provide technology leadership supporting financial services operations, including credit products, origination, servicing, collections, fraud, and regulatory reporting.

Lead customer experience (CX) technology platforms, including omnichannel contact centers, CRM, IVR, automation, and performance analytics.

Oversee data governance, data quality, analytics, reporting, and data protection initiatives.

Manage third‑party vendors, including RFI/RFP processes, due diligence, contract negotiation (MSAs, SLAs, SOWs), licensing, and ongoing vendor relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree in IT Management or MBA with IT concentration preferred.

10–15+ years of IT experience, including 7–10 years in regulated or financial services environments and 5+ years leading cloud or cybersecurity operations.

Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Professional certifications preferred, including CISSP, CISM, AWS or Azure Architect, ITIL or COBIT, PMP, or SAFe Agilist.

Proven leadership experience managing large, cross‑functional teams.

Strategic and analytical thinking.

Strong leadership and decision‑making skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Negotiation and vendor management expertise.

High ethical standards and integrity.

Ability to operate effectively under pressure in complex, regulated environments.
