Our Autonomy Visualization and Mission Planning team is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join us onsite.

What You Will Do

Driving technology advancement in a Java/Angular based visualization framework

Building reusable and custom user interfaces that provide an intuitive and modern experience with intentional design for adaptability and reuse

Serve as a technical subject matter expert for the visualization technology stack

Design and implement methods of composable and adaptable product lines and product builds

Maintain a backlog of work items in coordination with team/program leads

Collaborate with customer and user community to incorporate user feedback

Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support

Present to customers or stakeholders on software development progress and capabilities

Work on site as required for lab integration and team collaboration

Travel occasionally to support system integration and test, customer events, and related external activities

Qualifications You Must Have

Experience with designing and implementing a large‑scale modularized, reusable product base that supports multiple products

Fluent in Angular, Java, OSGi, and able to perform and lead a technical team with minimal onboarding

Experience with normalizing data from multiple sources for user display

Experience spanning software design, implementation, testing, and system integration of large systems

Experience working in or leading a software team, Scrum Master or similar

Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with Eclipse, Git, Visual Studio Code, Rational Team Concert, Jira, Docker, Java, Angular

Experience with data adaptation and multiple system integration

Domain knowledge in mission planning, electronic warfare, or sensors

Master of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related field

Salary Range 112,000 USD – 224,000 USD

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education, and key skills.
